A literature review of 409 academic articles and books and 78 grey literature reports and documents was ca.rried out to discuss automobility-related harm, with a summary of interventions that are ready for implementation
Car harm was grouped into four categories: violence, ill health, social injustice, and environmental damage. 1 in 34 deaths are caused by cars and automobility with 1,670,000 deaths per year. Key conclusions included that cars and automobility have killed 60?80 million people since their invention, and that car harm will continue unless policies change; example interventions suggested include reductions to on-street parking, reduced traffic speeds, and car sharing and electric bikes.
