Since 2008, the Scottish Health Survey (SHeS) has presented statistics on a range of physical, mental and social health figures. It is used to monitor progress towards the National Indicators, including: improving mental wellbeing; increasing physical activity; improving self-assessed general health; increasing the proportion of healthy weight children; and reducing the percentage of adults who smoke. The Scottish Health Survey 2016 report presents statistics on mental health, general health and caring, alcohol consumption, smoking, diet, physical activity, obesity, respiratory conditions, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes.
